Presumably live participants in either competition are inelligable to place bets.

Collusion and chip-dumping could become rife and the integrity of our entire system would be called into doubt.

It would be like Dennis Lillie and Rodney Marsh betting on England to win the Headingly test in 1981 at 500-1.

Wink

Ah but the pride of being the champion..! thought it wd spark some side interest.

Yes i agree that participants having a bet would damage the integrity of the system.. (esp as i'm laying!) Though i mite open some odds at the semi final and final of the heads up (for beer).

hmm... wonder how it would work out if everyone was betting against themselves Shocked

Altho i don't think there would be much collusion and the like over a couple of beers, i've removed the thread anyway to avoid any misunderstandings about my intentions over it.

Truth is, I had a dull, dull day...

Er...

I didn't mean it. Was just poking some gentle fun.

I actually thought it was a good idea!

So did I - nobody is going to collude. Stick it back up, I wanted to have another look.

Duly re-posted. The book will change (obviously) as results change. I've also made ante-post for the next league though I'm keeping them close to my chest until I know the format and who's playing.

I'm most chuffed with my odds! Although feel a certain pressure to live up to them now ... Shocked

Jenny now eliminated from the heads-up, leaving seven.

In the league, three players with the best chance. Matthew, Helen and Chris VS to miss the penultimate game. Should make for some all-or-nothing play to finish the league (more of last night!)...

Only a few realistic chances left so very short odds now.

Well done to Maria. I think I had her at something like 10/1 when I started this!
