SLT Sunday Freezeout – 04th November 2007

£2 buy in – 5 players - £10 pot

1st Chris L £7
2nd Anton £3
3rd Rees
4th Christian
5th Maria

Only 5 players on the night, however we seemed to be getting through more hands than usual - Which was nice.

It was also a welcome return to the game for Christian, who's not played for a while, but is still out current leader.

The first big pot of the night went to Anton, with Rees calling a big bet, with a Queen on the board, though neither player had another Queen to match, Anton had the next best thing - A pair of Jacks.

A few hands later and Christian got dealt the Jacks, and despite an Ace on the board, went on to win a big pot with them against Maria.

1st all in of the night had Maria putting Rees all in for 250 chips.
Rees calls with A 10, and ends up catching an A to stay in the game.

Anton gets a trip Aces in a hand where he could've put Maria all in, but didn't like the flop of 6,7,8 and the possibilities of running into a straight.

Next to go all in was Maria, with the flop showing A 4 3. Called by Rees, the turn was a 10, and the river a 2. This made a straight out of Rees 5 6, and knocked Maria out the game.

Next out was Christian.
With Chris L putting in a pre flop raise of 450, Christian decided it was worth getting his chips in before the blinds went up, and called with an all in 460.
Chris L showed Q A - Christian showed J K
The flop gave something for everyone 7 Q J, turn 5 & riiver 7, didn't improved Christians hand, and he was out the game.

Next to go all in was Anton.
Rees made an impressive pre-flop bet of 400, which Anton raised all in 980. Rees called showing A 10. Anton had 9 9.
Flop came 4 10 2 to put Rees ahead, turn 7, river 9 giving Anton trips.

Next to go all in was Rees - With Chris L putting in a pre-flop bet, forcing Rees to go all in or fold. Rees took a gamble with 6 10 of Hearts, Chris showed A J. Can't remember the flop, but Rees hit a 10 to survive.

Chris L got his own back later on though. Going all-in pre flop, and called by Rees.
Chris showed 3 3. Rees showed K 9. Flop came 3 2 9, turn K, river 2. Reeses 2 pair couldn't better Chris' Full House, and Rees was out.

Head to Head with Anton & Chris lasted about 6 hands (I think).

Chris eventually won on a flop of 4 K 9. Antons bet was raised by Chris, then Anton went all in, hoping Chris hadn't hit. Unfortuanately for Anton, the flop gave Chris 2 pair (K 4), and he called.
Anton showed 3 9 of clubs.
The turn was Q and river 6.
Chris L wins!

Knockouts

Chris L 4
Rees 1

There was enough time for a speed round after, which Chris dealt for Christian, Maria, Anton & Rees. This was quite a fun paced game with 10 min blinds. Christian was the first to go out though, and after quite a few more hands we were faced with a nightmare 3 way ALL-IN scenario. Luckily for someone who can't count, the player with the biggest stack also had the best hand - Anton, who knocked Maria & Rees out, and scooped an impressive £4.
Great stuff.

SLT Sunday Freezeout – 11th November 2007

£2 buy in – 6 players - £10 pot

1st Louisa £8
2nd Christian £4
3rd Mark
4th Catherine
5th Anton
6th Maria

The last time Louisa played, she found herself heads up to Christian but losing out; this time she got her revenge and cleaned up.

Maria was out after 40 minutes of play, a gradually diminishing stack finally reduced to zero with a KJ all in, played down to the river against Lou; Christian taking the pot with A5 with an Ace on the turn.

An uncharacteristic early exit from Anton, an hour later, all in with KJ; Christian playing him with KQ, with a queen on the turn.

Catherine's stack was demolished by Mark (similarly stacked at this stage), Catherine going all in on the river, a 7, but Mark calling having checked top pair (Q) on the flop. Catherine now had 5 chips left and was out shortly after.

A highly limpet-ey run of good luck from Mark kept him in the game for probably longer than he deserved, however his A6 lost against Lou's A3 when another 3 hit the river.

Knockouts-

Louisa 3
Christian 2

SLT Sunday Freezeout – 2nd December 2007

£2 buy in – 7 players - £14 pot

Split 1st Maria and Anton £7 each
3rd Chris L
4th Christian
5th Ed
6th Mark
7th Rees

Christian in on some early action and winning a few big pots, right from the first hand with full house, TT with KTK flop.

However Maria arrived at the table and immediately removed a large number of chips from him.

Ed stayed in using the deely bopper (sp?) to gain luck.

Maria then wore the deely bopper and wins her hand.

Anton then took it and throws it away.

First out Rees, 155 to 100 big blind. Maria (UTG) and Mark (BB) stayed in. Maria made a straight, Mark a pair and Rees's KJ paired as well.

Mark now heavily short stacked with 335, went all in with J9, only to run into Chris L and Christian both on AQ. Nobody hit the board and Mark was out. Half a knockout each to Chris and Christian.

Shortly after Ed was all in with KT, Chris L only needed 65 chips to call on BB. His Q3 wins with a Q on the flop.

Christian out next, his K8 beaten by Maria on AK, making a flush anyway just for good measure.

With three left, Anton and Chris L managing to cling on with short stacks to Maria now big stack. However Chris L was eventually forced out by Anton, 89 beaten by JQ.

Despite Maria having the chip advantage she chose to split with Anton, to play another game after.

Knockouts:

Maria 2
Chris L 1½
Anton 1
Christian ½

SLT Sunday Omaha Freezeout – 2nd December 2007

£2 buy in – 7 players - £14 pot

1st Mark £10
2nd Chris L £4
3rd Nick
4th Maria
5th Ed
6th Rees
7th Anton

Our first Pokerqueens Omaha game, also probably the last game of 2007.

Some crazy betting, the nature of the pot limit game, meant some earlier exits and an earlier finish.

Anton ended up being out first, the first time for him this year. AAQ7 v Mark's TT95; Mark making another ten on the flop.

Maria managed to stay in for a few allins, keeping her head above water; making straights and flushes against Ed and Nick.

Rees was however was out next in a three way all in beaten by Nick's set of 6's.

Ed all in with little more than his big blind, but Chris made a straight.

Maria eventually became the next victim to Nick. She's made a set of queens on the flop, with nut flush draw; however Nick made runner runner straight and knocked her out.

Chris L by now with a massive stack, Nick looking healthy and Mark very short; however a few judicious bets managed to build up his stack before getting knocked out by Chris, again to a straight.

Heads up, and with Chris on 90% of the chips it looked like a foregone conclusion; after several hands of chip swapping, Mark made a couple of all ins that hit which saw him take the lead, and then finish it with a full house.

An earlier finish and wilder betting made for quite a fun game.

Knockouts-

Mark 2
Chris L 2
Nick 2
